iPad - get ur 99c camera!

One major complaint abt the iPad is the missing camera which the other Apple products like even the iPod nano 5th gen has. But thanks to the app store or the real app owner has such who made this no more a problem.

If you got an iPhone, it can made to be a wireless camera to the iPad. Here we go, how we make the iPad have a camera.
  • On the iPad goto the app store and search for the app called CAMERA-A which is a 99c app that you can buy. Buy it and have it installed on the iPad.
  • Now on the iPhone, open the app store and in there search and download the app CAMERA-B which is a free app cos without the CAMERA-A, this app doesnt make any sense and hence is made available in the app store.
  • Now launch CAMERA-B app on the iPhone and the CAMERA-A on the iPad.
  • Make sure both the iPad and the iPhone referred to in here are connected to the same wifi network or if you dont make to have a signal, you can use of the inbuilt bluetooth.
  • Now, you should be able to see the view of your iPhone camera in the iPhone and the iPad as well.
  • You can click the Capture button on the iPad and go ahead...

Good luck iPad lovers!!!

iPhone OS 4.0

Its been quite some time that iPhone is into the tech buzz and that's been loud every time we heard it. From the day it was launched, people including reviewers were craving for a few glitches to be covered which apple dint appear to be worried about till it announces the 4.0 OS version. Yes, you are right. Steve Jobs has announced the release of the iPhone OS 4.0 for beta testing and what we hear from Steve and the dev-tech buzz is it hosts the long waited Multi-Tasking capability, the area where iPhone is used to loose score with other mobile operating systems like the android and the Palm OS in the market.

With the iPhone OS 4.0 devs beta released for download right after its announcement, hands-on videos of the new version of the Apple platform are spreading like wildfire. Well, after doing the most of the heavy lifting for you the gathered videos most worthy of your attention are presented here.

ahaaa!! hold on guys.. this isnt the fun and the new OS doesnt elate every one, as it is only for the 3GS version of the iphone and not for the 3G version. Existing Indian iPhone owners will have to live with an iPhone with no multitasking for the rest of their life unless Steve shows some mercy. And, iPad owners or people dreaming to own one should have to hold their breath till the time around Q3 2010 when the OS update is announced to happen for FREE!! you heard it right, iPads are released with the NOTE that they are eligible for free upgrade till Version 4.0 (if anyone has taken a look at the docs that come along with the boxed iPad).

Well, the iPhone 3GS owners dont have to rush to get their iphones updated and try watching out how the multitasking works, as the apps that are in the market (iStore) as on date don't have anything to do with the multitasking feature that is being made available. What Apple did was, it released and new API which the app developers should make use of in order to make their app be able to support multitasking or to run in the behind when minimised. So, users are at the mercy of the developers' interest to walk that xtra mile. But among those apps that come along with the iPhone 3GS as pre-installed, users are free to find the multitasking.

The videos give a brief overview of the features introduced by the iPhone OS 4.0 and their performance. Despite being still in the beta stages of its development the platform is pretty steady and nicely performing already. See for yourselves

Apart from the multitasking we have got some other things also to be talked about that come along with this OS version release.
  • Drag an app on to the other (after you make them appear as wobbling which you get after a long press on the screen on the icon of any app) and make a new folder on the home screen. This helps if you tired of browsing through you n number of home screens which might be because of huge app count on your phone.
  • The camera has got a zoom feature which is sweet and simple, a slide bar added on the screen where you view the image to be captured.
  • The spell check has been enhanced
  • To reiterate, the multitasking comes with a bar on the bottom of the screen where in the running apps are listed like a scroll. How ever, at any point of time you can see only 4 apps that are running unless you opt to swipe the screen either left or right.
To the apple freaks, here we have another video:

With this upgrade, Apple rushes with an increased speed into the market to beat others but to be honest in appraising, android and palm OS should be called good as this multitasking has been their age old feature.

iPad - U Luv it or U Hate it?

With every launch of an apple product we see and hear a lot of buzz on the web. Some say its great and some think about if the item is worth the bucks you put in.. Well, for now we are here with some reasons to like and to hate the new iPad from Apple.

For all those Apple fan boys and people who are thinking what is in for buying the iPad, here we go with top 5 reasons for which you should get it:

#5 - iTunes: This being one of the most used store along with the player to go with the songs/podcasts/movies or what ever you name it, it makes iPad worth while for the iPad works with all those right out of the box.
#4 - Performance: Apple comes with no junk into the market to hit the crowds.. isnt it? iPad has got a good performance ample enough to please those who hated to make to it as well.
#3 - Videos: You can have the iPad loaded with movies, TV Shows or other videos and take them with you and make it your travel partner. It appears to be much better than most portable DVD players out in the market.
#2 - E Reader: The iPad is an amazing E reader. This is for no reason behind the Kindle from the Amazon. You might not want to rate this awesome but it looks great with the vibrant colors and pretty much every format of an e-book is readable with great looks in here. You cant wait to read a comic book on this.
#1 - Games: The iPad homes a motion sensor equipment and a vibrant screen which gave apple to make it a platform for motion based games though apple didnt really aim at this sector. With its screen it makes out to be the best handheld gaming device but we gotta wait to see what would be the game library size down the timeline inspite of it coming with 1000s of titles into the market till date. This is one of the compelling reasons to own an iPad.

Note: Please post your reasons why you would want to own an iPad and share your thoughts.

Now, its time for those hate an apple... Buckle up your seats and watch these out:
#5 - No Camera: My iPhone can take pics and videos and my Mac can take pics and videos .. why not my iPad not have that ease?
#4 - No Multitasking: This iPad is an item made to help work on lot of things and should be working like a computer. You might be reading an e-book or making your spread sheet and simultaneously hearing to something...Oops!! there is not any chance of doing two things at a time on this iPad. Ye, we know this shuts mood off.
#3 - Unreplaceable Battery: The battery should last long and should live with you for decades. Thats fine but it doesnt help me work with the iPad at an airport or any place where you dont have a power socket to charge your stuff.
#2 - Locking!: You are locked in with iTunes for syncing and app store for apps and only apple accessories as attachments and there is hardly any chance left to work without these. Why cut your wings when you have put in quite an good amount of money?
#1 - You dont need one: What are you really going to use this for? Sitting on a couch doing your spread sheets or sitting at your desk and working with your apps? There is no compelling reason to go & get this. You gotta find your own real reason if you have any.

Note: Please post your reasons what you don't like in an iPad and share your thoughts.

HTC HD2

With the nexus one making big into the market with the snapdragon processor, there has been a stage setup for mobile processor coming up with processor clock speeds matching regular netbook/notebook. On the same lines is the HTC HD series been launched. If we remember it right it has been jus more than an year that the HTC HD hit the markets with about a price tag more than 35K INR, which didnt leave the mobile as one targeting the mid-level budget consumers, and now we have its successor the HD2 with the OS (winmo 6.5) the next version.

Clear specs reveal that there is a clear boost up in the screen size making it close to a palm top and more than a mobile. It has got a gorgeous 4.3 inch screen and capacitive touch screen unlike the HD the former version. A quick comparison of the HD and HD2 can be very well viewed here but if we have to talk the real highlights of whats more or new in this is the capability of the HD2 to become a ready made wifi hotspot. The OS announced is the winmo 6.5 but there has been a word about no chance of upgrading the 6.5 to the upcoming 7.0 version that is expected to launch in 2010-Q4 (with Microsoft's announcement that there will be zero chances of customizing the UI). If the chance of this happening is zero then we will definitely have to think about buying this monster unless one is really eager to carry a 4.3 inch screen with him.

Be it a time to watch movie or do browsing on the web, the screen makes out to be a nice platform. The RAM has been given a significant boost along with the Qualcomm processor being replaced with the Snapdragon, which is a clear sign of heavy duty capabilities. HD2 has got the regular FB, Twitter and Youtube widgets shipped along with the piece in box. The handset is available in US market with unlocked version at about 579 USD and with T mobile for 199 USD and 2 yr contract (special T mobile features are available too). There has been no word about its release in Indian Market which is what I am waiting for.

There is nothing to be talked about any Out Of Box feature available on this phone except for the big screen easing out the comfort of watching movie (preloaded Transformer with the T Mobile version). The T Mobile version of the HD2 has got the Swype feature with it helping physical Keyboard fans to feel comfortable with the accuracy of typing which is enhanced by the monstrous screen. Over all, the mobile is pretty handsome device for those people who are ok to go with winmo 6.5 and it is one of its kind that gives us chance to talk about the biggest mobile screen as on date.

In all, a buyer of this mobile will have to live with the age old winmo 6.5 and the clunky menus and hard multi task handling stuff. How ever the buyer will be blessed with a screen good for movies and sharp shooting 5 MP camera and an LED Flash. Now it is user's choice if he should go with the T Mobile version US or Unlocked version of US or the Unlocked version of non US, for there are quite some variances in the spec of all the versions.

Not many would be out there following some trusted sites for review and all. But well, not every link would contain the thing that one might be looking for and not everything contained is genuine and true.

For the matter of an example, this Apr 1 2010 the very popular mobile view site
gsmarena has posted some interesting fact like HTC playing with their HERO to have the iPhone OS installed. There was a clean 23 sec video also available making readers think about making their HERO a host for iPhone OS.

You can check for the content here.

It dint take more than 24 hrs for all the believers of the above news to be disappointed as gsmarena posted an update on the same topic that it was jus a fools day prank for the viewers. And this doesnt mean to point that gsmarena is not trustworthy, for it is one of our most reliable sources. So here is our point, this blog that we have intended here is out of personal interest and no money making intentions are involved and the content is posted out of the reviews done with own interest and leisure. It will be made sure that you have all the genuine content with relevant sources mentioned in there for easing out you reference.

Hope you will admire this blog and help us have this grow better with any comments and suggestions you might have. Let us know what you really look for as a review. You can also request for a particular product and we will try having the related posted for you.

Note: The blog's construction is still in progress and the help of any html person is what is being looked for. Any help, is appreciated.
